OUR INNOVATIONS
Upcycling Lab
The Upcycling Lab is Chakraviu Nepal’s dedicated innovation space for advancing circular solutions that connect education, environment, and economic empowerment. Designed as a living model of the circular economy, the Lab responds to two urgent and interconnected challenges: the growing burden of textile waste in urban Nepal and the lack of basic educational resources for students in rural public schools. At a time when the world is projected to discard 148 million tons of clothing annually by 2030, and over 2.16 million tons of denim waste are generated each year, the Lab offers a practical, scalable alternative rooted in community action. The Lab’s flagship initiative, From Jeans to Dreams: Upcycling For Education, transforms discarded denim into durable school kits for students in rural Nepal.
Holistic Learning Sessions
Chakraviu Nepal delivers holistic learning sessions in schools, designed to strengthen students’ personal, social, and environmental awareness through age-appropriate, structured activities. Opportunity Grabbing Instances (OGI) encourage them to step forward, try new things, and make decisions even when they feel uncertain. Our eco-conscious modules show students how small, consistent actions can protect the environment and strengthen their sense of responsibility. Together, these experiences help students see what they are capable of, and leave each session feeling a little more confident, aware, and hopeful about what they can contribute to the world.
FOR EDUCATION Initiatives
For Education is Chakraviu Nepal’s open and evolving initiative that turns community participation into direct support for education. Bakers, dancers, musicians, artists, crocheters, yoga instructors, craft-makers, hikers, sound healers, environmental activists, students, and professionals come together to turn their skills, creativity, and interests into meaningful educational impact. It shows that education can be supported through joy, creativity, and shared experiences, where communities come together not only to give, but to learn, grow, and create impact together. In doing so, For Education redefines how society engages with education: as a living, inclusive ecosystem powered by people, passion, and purpose.
